The challenge: Mediocre, disengaged suppliers.
The client had workforce issues arising from a decline in supplier engagement, inconsistent supplier processes, and lack of compliance across their supplier program.
An additional issue leading to inefficiency was the high volume of suppliers within the program.
The solution: Optimizing the supplier program.
First, we completed a thorough supplier optimization to review supplier performance and value. As a result, we identified the top performers that were under-utilized. Partnering with our client stakeholder, we removed inactive, non- and under-performing suppliers. As well as identified suppliers that would benefit from our supplier coaching for performance improvement.
Second, we conducted a supplier summit to review the optimization process for transparent communication to the multitude of suppliers within the program.
The value: Improving supplier engagement.
Through our supplier optimization process (removing subpar suppliers, reengaging/coaching, and prioritizing top performers), the client is seeing a huge improvement in supplier engagement, compliance, and decreased risk within their MSP.
Program metrics such as shorter cycle times and candidate analytics are tracked within our Helix UX for real-time visibility for the client. In addition, we moved workers to the payroll supplier within the program, leading to additional cost savings for the client.
